Just doing it.... How I FINALLY opened Shop Sundaze Boutique
Share
If you would have asked me years ago what my Dream Job would be - I would have told you "to one day own my own store or boutique". I always knew I would end up here, typing out the story of how I finally did it, but what I didn't know was that I would be typing this at 22 years old. I always told myself that this dream was made for way later in life.
I was a pre-nursing student at Western Carolina University, taking a full course load while working as much as I could at the most amazing fine jewelry store. Working at Hollifield Jewelers is what made me grow such a passion for working with jewelry ( Shoutout to Brooklynn, Beth, and Steve). After 2.5 years of working towards nursing school, I began questioning if nursing was what I wanted to do. Months of questioning, doubting, and debating finally helped me realize that nursing was not what I wanted to do. I was accepted into the nursing program, yet decided to decline.
My boyfriend Kc and I decided we wanted to move back home and finish school online. We are still Western Carolina Students but from the comfort of our own homes. I switched my degree to Innovation in Entrepreneurship, with a focus on marketing. I knew that I wanted to stay in the world of Jewelry. I found a new job back home, where I was able to work with jewelry every day, as well as learn the ins and outs of running a small business. I have an incredible boss, who has taught me so much. Working in the store while also being a full-time online student kept me pretty busy.
One day, as I was sitting in my family room browsing some online boutiques, I thought about how I couldn't wait to own my boutique one day. That's when it hit me. Why was I waiting? Why not begin my Dream job right now? What's stopping me?
From then on, I spent every moment of my free time planning inventory, website design, getting my licensing, testing products, designing a logo, creating a brand image and so much more. Package after package began showing up at my doorstep, and Shop Sundaze Boutique was starting to come alive. I launched the website months later, where I was met with a ton of orders and so much support. Shop Sundaze is still so new, but I can't wait to see what's in store.
THANK YOU to all of you for being here. Every website view, shared post, DM, comment, like, and order means so much to me. I wouldn't be able to live my dream if it weren't for all of you.
